The modern and well equipped Library at the University of Winchester houses a collection of almost 350,000 books, videos and sound recordings and receives some 850 journals. This stock covers all the subjects offered by the University, as well as many fields of general interest to serve the 5,000 students and 500 staff of the University. The Library holds the Customer Service Excellence award.
The Library Assistant will join a team providing an excellent library service to our customers. In addition to counter duties and shelving, the successful candidate will be trained in a range of back-room functions.
Previous customer service experience is essential. Experience of working in an educational environment would be a bonus. You will be able to work with academic staff and students, show excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team, as well as on your own initiative.
This is a full time post of 37 hours per week. The Library is staffed between 8.00am and 8.00pm and there will be a requirement to work some extended hours from time to time.
