The Finance & Planning Department at the University of Winchester are excited to present a new opportunity within the team. We are keen to recruit a capable colleague to lead the development of new financial processes for the University in the role of Finance Project Manager.
The successful applicant will develop and implement sustainable and cost-effective projects to meet current and future business needs. You will be focused on continuous improvement of financial systems within the Department and the University.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills to enable you to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues within and external to the University. Furthermore, the post-holder will have ability to be able to question, challenge and deliver tough messages when that’s needed. You will also bring your enthusiasm for good financial systems and your commitment to good quality.
The post-holder will have a relevant degree and be a qualified accountant, with experience of leading and managing system-improvement projects. The successful applicant will also have experience of writing scoping reports and/or business cases.
The role requires knowledge of Unit 4 Business World (Agresso), third party online payment services, and project management tools, such as Prince 2. Knowledge of PCI-DSS, VAT and PAYE in the Higher Education Sector is also required.
We will need the post-holder to have leadership experience of large and complex projects, along with critical-thinking ability and good problem-solving skills. You will be working on your own initiative within agreed projects and plans, in addition to being able to analyse and solve technically diverse and complex problems.
