At the University of Winchester we are passionate about helping our students to develop their employability and go on to rewarding and exciting careers when they leave us. We are looking for a self-motivated and innovative Faculty Employability Adviser to help us fulfil the goals set out in our Strategic Plan and Employability Strategy.
Working as a part of the Careers Service team, you'll be based for much of your time within the Faculty of Business, Law and Sport. Within academic departments you will engage staff in strategic discussions regarding the employability of their students, and design and deliver a bespoke programme of employability support using face-to-face and blended learning methods; this could involve, for example, organising employer networking events for students, running CV writing workshops, and developing online information resources. You will work impartially with students to equip them with the career management skills required to enhance their employability, and you'll also contribute to central drop-in sessions, workshops, and our annual employability week - Winchester Opportunities Week.
You will be educated to degree level and have a recognised qualification in career guidance, or equivalent qualification; ideally you will have recent experience of providing advice and guidance within a higher education environment. The role requires strong communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues at all levels throughout the institution and key external stakeholders. We are seeking self-motivated individuals with excellent team and organisational skills, able to deliver to deadlines and manage multiple activities.
The hours of work are 37 per week, 32 weeks per year but part time hours/job share may be considered. If you would like your application to be considered on this basis, please detail this in your supporting statement.
